Diamonds are not only women’s best friends. They can also be vested favorites among men who love fine pieces of jewelry. Women have the advantage of versatility when it comes to diamond jewelry. With the many cuts of diamonds available in the market today, what shape is considered to be most suitable for men’s rings?

Fancy cuts of diamonds include all diamonds shapes other than round. These special diamonds are made for women’s jewelry, mostly engagement rings. You will never see men’s diamond rings using marquise-cut diamonds, which is shaped like a rice grain, or heart-shaped diamonds. Using these in men’s jewelry will not be suitable for that fine gentleman at all. Most, if not all, men’s rings use the round brilliant cut diamond. However, another diamond shape complements the masculine appeal in men’s fine jewelry. Most men do not use this diamond cut simply because of its name. It is called the princess-cut diamond. The princess-cut diamond may be a fancy-shaped diamond but because it is square, it works really well in a man’s ring. It truly is “hip to be square” when it comes to using square-shaped diamonds in men’s rings.

In summary, only two diamond cuts are recommended for men’s fine diamond jewelry namely, the brilliant or round cut and the princess or square cut. Forget about all other fancy diamond shapes. Always remember not to use baguettes in men’s rings even though they look like sticks or rods. Contrary to its appearance, using baguettes in diamond jewelry add a dainty, delicate, and feminine touch. Just stick to square and round diamonds for the best men’s rings.
